The property at Hillcrest was formally an ex-authority semi-detached house overlooking a delightful green space. The vast majority of these houses are now privately owned and as such the whole area has been gentrified.
Challenge
Hillcrest had been uninhabited for at least 2 years and was dark, tired and very run down. A single-story rear extension with a roof light and bi-folding doors that run across the full length of the back of the house was added which now formed the new kitchen/lounge/diner.
Solution
The three bedrooms upstairs were completely renovated and fitted wardrobes were added. A gorgeous new family bathroom was designed. Walking through the doors of this newly renovated house with light oak floors you could see right into the lovely garden. The use of glass and pale colours gave impression of warmth, luxury and light.
The Result
A modern, bright home
Homeowners Thoughts
I bought the newly renovated 3 bed semi detached cottage on Hillcrest immediately after being renovated by Lucy and Kate from Falcon Properties. We saw images of the house before they started and it was really run down. They certainly had a lot of work to do. A building in the garden was demolished making room for an extended Kitchen/Lounge/Diner which opened onto a bright private garden through bi-Folding doors which ran the full width of the house. A stunning bespoke kitchen was build and the space is now large and welcoming. The rooms downstairs were all reconfigured and a new WC was added. Upstairs, there are 2 double bedrooms with fully fitted wardrobes and 1 smaller bedroom all served by a family bathroom. The house was sold with full planning permission for a loft extension which we have now done adding a further double bedroom and bathroom. We are absolutely delighted with our new home.
