A small 2 bedroom / 1-bathroom semi-detached cottage that had last been renovated in 1967.
Challenge
To rearrange the layout of the whole house crating larger bedrooms and to provide ample space on the ground level for living an entertaining.
Solution
A single story rear extension was added to the back of the house opening up fully to the large garden at the back with bi-folding doors. A roof light was also installed over the extension making it a bright large kitchen/diner/lounge. A new WC was created on the ground floor. The front porch was rebuilt and insulated making the entrance to the house warm and inviting. Upstairs was completely redesigned, two double bedrooms were created and served by a Jack & Jill bathroom
The Result
A new modern homely cottage which still retained many of its original features
Homeowners Thoughts
As soon as I walked through the door on my first viewing, I knew the house was special. The attention to detail and sensitive treatment of what from all accounts was a tired and dated property shone out. Lucy and Kate clearly know how to improve a property and to offer luxurious touches that any buyer would expect from a new build what at the same time being sympathetic to the age and character of the house and maximizing its potential.
Having lived here for nearly a year, I am still grateful that their clear vision and refusal to compromise on the important elements has created a house that is a dream to live in and a very happy home. Thank you, Lucy and Kate.
